Domestica's New Online Poster + Print Shop

Announcing our new *so excited!* online poster + print shop, DomesticaPrint.com.  We're stocking it day + night with gig posters, poster prints, digital prints, cards and notebooks.  We still have our flagship online shop, we just have SO many prints, we thought it high time to give them some space.

Cool Etsy Vintage

Part of the joy of Etsy is the stellar vintage.  We love so many cool vintage shops and wonder why more people don't hone in on this resource.  Today, we'd like you to meet Ethan Ollie.  Everything they sell is something I want - have a feeling they could make a used cupcake wrapper look like art.

A Pair of Pears

They have a really nice Etsy shop where they sell prints and stationary. According to their shop bio, "We both enjoy chocolate chip pancakes, a good cup of coffee, artsy books, tandem bikes, organic food and dalmatians."

Pinterest, Pops of Color + How It All Relates to Wes Anderson

Lately I've been lost in the haze of Spring Fever - that time of year when concetration goes out the open window + everyone's sneezing their heads off  + thoughts turn to whether its sunny enough to wear new sunglasses and melon-shade nail polish.

It's old news that "pops" of color" are all the rage this season, and despite all my resolutions to stick to a Chrissie Hynde/Kate Lanphear color palette, I find myself gravitating toward these almost-80's color palettes.  I'm not trying to re-claim my 8th grade self, but I have to admit, I kinda miss Esprit.  Lately, I've been spending a lot of time on Ampersand Design's Morgan Georgie's Wanting in My Closet Pinterest board.

My other sort-of obsession is Need Supply.  I love their styling, I love that they use You Work For Them fonts (like me!), I love their new Wes Anderson movies-inspired Spring 2012 Lookbook. It's full of careful pops of color - teasers, if you will. 

Looking at it puts me in a dream state - pretty much the same way at stills from Moonrise Kingdom does.  I watch Wes Anderson films and the colors, the scenery, the set design all work to put me in a state of nostalgia - a yearning for long leisurely days filled with selfish pursuits - hours spent watching one brown ant hill, days wasted on the sole task of building a fort marked in the wood with a red mechanic's rag, long languid bike rides past mile after mile of green field - long languid bike rides that aren't just bike rides at all.

Welcome {Made}!

If you're a Market Day fiend like me, you no doubt saw Made's classic/cool/retro/Palm Beach-y earrings and bracelet's at this season's kick-off event. I think I know every single designer/maker in the State, and yet, I hadn't really heard of {Made} or {Made} Community (their online collective) until they contacted me a couple of weeks ago.

So glad!  We now carry thier bracelets, earrings and jewelry/key organizers. The jewelry's so pretty! Every piece is something you'll want and there's no two exactly alike, so it's not going to freak you out to see your friend wearing them with her striped tee + pedal pushers.  Chunky or slim, 60's styled with a dash of 80's, all with saturated color pops -  I have a hard time describing the pieces, so I'll let the lovely (and so nice) creatives behind {Made}, Tiffany Ralston and Rachel Roewe, speak for themselves + the ideas behind their beautiful designs (I stole these passages fr their website. I like to keep swapping out different colors and textures and patterns, just in case, just to see, what might be a perfect match. I love to create something from nothing.
